In this context of the coming universal surveillance state we could remember how Edward Snowden struck a blow to somewhat hinder the NSA from surveilling American politicians and social activists as Edgar Hoover did. There is a danger that most Americans think this surveillance is of no concern to them because they have nothing to hide. They’re not terrorists. Snowden wanted to draw attention to how this data would be used. He was asked to watch for politicians to see if they went to pornography sites.
